Checklist changes

Post by BillMiddlebrook »

I've made changes to the 13er checklist edit page, so if you encounter any problems with it, please post in this thread.

Also, I will be removing the "ANNUAL ELEVATION GAIN" field from the checklist pages. You may have noticed that it can be set while updating your 14er checklist and displays just under your username when viewing your checklist. Not a lot of people use it and it serves no good purpose on the site.

I updated my checklist without issues but when I went to update the next one it's very buggy. It wouldn't save my comments in the Memo field, then after several tries it saved my comments. I went back to update my comments but it's not saving the changes.

Thanks

Thanks Bill!

Shameless request for the checklists, not sure if this is the place to do it, but my OCD wants to be able to see my progress by range. Ignore if you don't think it would be worth the effort or would be too hard to implement.

Would it be possible to display the progress in each range kind of similar to the screenshot below? This could be just total peaks or also include snowflakes/ski descents, not sure how it would look in practice

Which checklist are you seeing this on? 14ers or 13ers? If you PM me some sample memo text that's failing to save, I might be able to troubleshoot it better.

Checklists --> 13'er User Checklists --> Update My 13'er Checklist. --> specifically Mt. Champion.

It wouldn't save after several attempts. Later I tried again and entered "test" and it saved. Since I've tried again but doesn't update.
The update I'm trying to save is a typical text update, similar to all my other ones. It did save on Unnamed 13,736.
I'm using Safari 15.6.1

Thank you.

If you PM me some memo text that doesn't save, I can probably replicate the problem and identify what character(s) it's unhappy with. Thanks

Oh, and it will strip out HTML tags if you're trying to enter any.

Oh gotcha. That tip helped. It was the degree symbol.

I figured it was a case of operator error, loose nut behind the wheel.
Just a coincidence that I've never had an issue before and you mentioned an update.

That helps, thanks! The new page must be missing a character encoding check or something.

I like the new look.

I know you aren't soliciting requests but any chance you can add a completed/uncompleted or checked/unchecked filter on the map for both 14ers and 13ers? Checkmarks already show up but it would be nice to see a view with all checked or unchecked. Thanks Bill!

Bill, it looks like the "map" button on the 13ers checklist panel just sends you to the user's 14er map now. I assume this wasn't intentional?

Seconding the request to have the map filter in the same way you can filter checklists. It'd be super neat to see a map of just climbed or unclimbed peaks.

Yup, that's a good idea. When I can get back to working on checklist stuff, I'll see what it will take to implement this one.

Thanks!

I love the map with the unranked being lighter shade. Nice upgrade
