I wanted to share our 5 day experience up on Gannett with Kristine and good pals for my 40th birthday. While we were not able to summit, we were damn close. More importantly, it was a fantastic adventure filled with many laughs and wonderful camaraderie. I hope you enjoy.
Congrats on getting Gannett AND reaching the big four-oh! What a nice way to spend your birthday - with good friends on a good mountain. It just doesn't get any better than that, does it? Although that lightning might have aged you a few more years, eh? Scary...
Looks like a great adventure, minus the whole almost dying via lightning thing. We did Gannet Mid June last year, had a ton of snow, but no where close to what you dealt with. Funny enough, we met a guy with his horses in the parking lot when we were packing up and had a similar experience. Told us we were crazy, dumb and there was no way we'd even make it to Titcomb. Wonder if it's the same dude and he does that every year? Happy Birthday my man, let's hang soon. Best to Kristine, Sawyer and the pups.
Sincere Congratulations on a great Gannett Peak adventure. Thanks so much for sharing this informative, quality trip report. Cool way to celebrate the big 40th amongst good mountaineering company. Happy Birthday Brandon. Appreciate your inspiring effort too. Keep climbing safe, smart, and strong.
I was hoping the TR consisted of a single photograph. Ol' Chalk in his skivies and boots ready for some rope play. If that doesn't arouse you, time to start popping pills.
You're 40. haha. Just kidding. Ah, no I'm not. Picture 1 is a framer. I didn't finish reading it yet. I'll comment on the real Chalk website once I read the rest for breakfast! , BUDDY
Jay - yes, every time lightning and I have an encounter, I get a few more gray hairs. But despite the terrifying situations with mother nature, it was a phenomenal; adventure with a phenomenal crew.
Blyth - I remember when you guys went to Gannett. funny about that guy with the horse. yeah, the locals there probably don't want us Coloradoans messing up their Winds. You needed a guy like Billy on your trip who was from Wyoming. Hope you guys are great, buddy!
Jas - appreciate the comment man. Cheers!
Marsters - wow, in my skivies. Love it! That could have summed it up, yes, buddy.
Nat - Many thanks! I'm stoked to be in the 40 club, honestly, I am!
Sarnelli - Well, won't you be joining us 40 clubbers soonish, buddy?
